About me
My name is Jessie Spangler and I’m an avid reader, a lover of all things nature, and a travel enthusiast. I’m currently the marketing manager at Virgin Hotels Chicago, where I wear many different hats (think: email marketing, social media, occasional graphic designer). In addition, I’m writing a book in my favorite genre of all time, adult fantasy. I’ve lived in Chicago for the past few years with my husband and our incredibly cute gray cat.
About my page
I mainly wanted a place to write, mostly about my travels, food, and to have somewhere to dump all my photos from said travels. I enjoy storytelling in its many forms, and my main focus here is to tell the stories of the places I’ve been. I enjoy being outside, so you’ll find many of my travels include national parks.
My professional life
I’m currently in the hospitality industry, which I love. I’ve been at Virgin Hotels Chicago since January 2023, and it’s been a fun ride ever since. Before, I was the director of marketing for the Mechanical Contractors Association of Chicago, and spent a year at Meredith Corporation as an email marketing strategist for some of their biggest brands, such as Real Simple, Better Homes & Garden, Travel & Leisure, and more.
On the side, I write as much as I can. As I mentioned above, I’m currently working on a fantasy novel that I hope to get published one day.
